Here is the face of a girl that just saw her brother for the first time in 7 months. To say that night was overwhelming would be an understatement. It was a blast to see many of the people we love in one place. From church peeps, to family, to best friends. The fact that everyone was there to see this 2 and a half year process finally come to an end, meant the world to us. Everyone that prayed for us, cried with us and loved us.
My favorite part of the night besides Vinny coming home, was getting to introduce my grandma and Vinny. My grandma came up behind me with tears in her eyes, and I looked at Vinny and got to say “this is your grandma” I barely got those words out before I bursted into tears. Vin looked at her and goes, “Hi grandma” with a smile on his face and gave her a big hug. My heart melted.
Ali Geier captured this moment perfectly.
It has been a crazy month to say the least. We have had our ups and downs, but we couldn’t ask for anything more. Vin has brought a ton of joy to our family. His smile lights up a room. His hugs are just the absolute best. This month has gone by fast, but I can’t remember what it was like without him running around. Our house has never been messier, but we have never been happier. Even through the rough days and moments, I still love this kid to death.
One of my favorite things is just sitting with him. He is a cuddle bug when he is tired and I love it. Last night I went into the boys room to say goodnight and I went and laid in bed with Vin and was just talking to him. Then, Will goes, “Cali stop flirting with your brother” Vin responds with, “Will are you jealous?” That was one of the funniest things that Vin has said.
Overall it has been a crazy, whirlwind of a month. But I personally have never been happier, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our boy and our family.
A big thanks to everyone for your prayers and support! We love you all!
